Work Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 6pm-6am, Monday-Friday (Saturdays as needed)

Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Shop Supervisor will work closely with the Machinist Superintendent to support the overall management of the Machining Department. This role involves providing technical assistance, overseeing the workforce, and ensuring safety and productivity within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Adhere to Company, federal, state, and local safety, ethics, and environmental regulations.
• Assist the Superintendent in resolving day-to-day operational issues.
• Support the Superintendent in meeting production schedules, maintaining resources, and addressing training needs.
• Provide technical assistance and supervise the workforce in the Machinists Department.
• Assign tasks on multiple assignments during a workday and monitor performance and productivity.
• Manage employees and ensure safe working conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees in the Machinists Department.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment working on manual, vertical, and horizontal machines in all phases of turning and milling.
• 1+ years of prior supervisory experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of TIG welding.

Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram forms or plans.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Proficiency in the principles of precision alignment of rotating machinery and use of precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to questions.
• Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools.
• Mathematical proficiency.
